April 2, 1930 – January 8, 2019. Dini died peacefully at the Golden Plough Lodge on January 8, 2019 with her family by her side.Dini was born on April 2, 1930 in Lisse, The Netherlands, the bulb flower capital; flowers and family were her life.Dini was predeceased by her “lieve schat”, Klaas, who she married in February 1953.They immigrated to Canada in April of the same year and made Orono their home.Dini is survived by their three children Yvonne (Frank) Maitland, Janet (John) Standeven and Brian (Shari) Schoenmaker as well as their grandchildren, Justin (Amy), Jessica (Adam), Colin, Jenette, Heather, Sarah (Mitch), Veronica and Kevin and great grandchildren Amelia, Jensen and Hunter.She was the youngest of 8 siblings and is lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews both in Canada and in The Netherlands. Please join us in remembering Dini at the Orono United Church on Saturday January 19th, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. followed by a light lunch.Donations in Dini’s memory may be made to the Orono United Church and would be gratefully appreciated.A special thank you to the incredible patient, caring and kind staff at the Golden Plough Lodge, Cobourg.
