With heavy hearts and great sadness Sheila Kathleen Patterson passed away peacefully with family by her side at Oak Ridge Hospice, Port Perry on April 5, 2024 at the age of 88.

Beloved wife of the late Donald Patterson.

Sheila was a loving mother, and is survived by daughter Heather and son-in-law Ken Sucee.

She was an adored grandmother of Jeff and his wife Julie, and her granddaughter Meaghan and her husband Andrew, and will be dearly missed by her family and friends, especially her bestie Delaine Dyer.

Sheila was very active in the community, with the volunteering at Camille’s Closet and 27 years volunteering at the Lakeridge Health Port Perry.

She loved playing cards, going for walks, cats and dancing, and Sheila would light up a room with just her presence.

Her laugh and smile that was contagious, and she will leave behind a large void.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Oak Ridges Hospice or Lakeridge Health Port Perry Hospital. Both gave amazing care to Shelia in her final days.

A Celebration of life will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2024 from 1:00-3:00pm at the Low & Low Funeral Home, Port Perry, ON.

He will be sadly missed by his grandmother Beryl, his aunts Penny and Lucie, uncles Mark and Claude, his cousins Frazier and Amanda, his extended family and many friends.

Shayne was an athlete with the Special Olympics and competed and won medals in softball and bowling.

He loved to ride his scooter and sing country music for his neighbours.

Passed away unexpectedly while enjoying the outdoors on March 29, 2024.

For Shawn family was first, together with Lisa they shared their greatest accomplishment, their children Shannon and Chad.

He was a loving and devoted father who would light up at the mere mention of his children’s names.

Beloved brother of Norma (Spek), Joy (Fred), Steve (Jeanette), Ruby (Gary), and pseudo brother Al (Jenn). Shawn was known to drop everything at a moments notice to help in any way he could.

He brought this kindness and shared it with our community serving as a Police Constable with DRPS for 25 years. Shawn was an avid outdoorsman and could always be found out in the bush, or on the water (frozen or not).

Anyone who knew Shawn, knows that his dogs were an integral part of his life. Starting in the 90’s with his chocolate lab Alex, what began as a hobby quickly became a passion for training Grand Hunter Retriever Champions.

Shawn will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his goddaughter Laura (Kyle), his many nieces, nephews, extended family, his DRPS family, his hunting & fishing buddies and all the friends he made along the way.

Visitation will be held at Low & Low Funeral Home, Port Perry on Friday, April 5th from 6:00-8:00pm, and on Saturday April 6th from 11:00am-1:00pm. A service to celebrate Shawn’s life will be held in the chapel at 1:00pm. To honor Shawn’s love of the outdoors, all attire welcome-camo encouraged.

Sylvia Ann Griffin took her spiritual journey home on Monday March 25th, 2024.

She was predeceased by her mother Sylvia Wynstekers, her father Ted Griffin, grandparents James and Catherine Griffin and Lourdes and George Barrett.

Sylvia is the beloved mother of two daughters Katie(Chris) and Christina(Doug) and grandmother to David.

She leaves behind her sister Ellen Palmer, brother Brett McClimond (Katherine) step-brothers Michael (Tracey) and Christopher (Johanne) stepfather Hank Wynstekers.

Nieces Jenna and Megan, great-nieces Faith and Joy-Anna.

Sylvia was a cherished niece of Marilyn and Bill Holden and Leo and Barbara Barrett. S

he will be dearly missed by her cousin's Lisa(Neal) Cohan, Laurie (Dean) Russo, Alana (Alan) Holden-Prendergast and second cousins Kiera, Carly, Courtney Deaglan and Grace.

Other cousins include the Hopkins/Blacks and the Leberge/Formosa and the Courtney families. Sylvia will be dearly missed by her family, extended family and friends. Special thanks to Angie for being such a constant and true friend.

As a devoted cat lover, owner and rescuer, the family is asking that any support/memorial donations be made out in Sylvia's name to the humane society of Durham and any other animal rescue.

Predeceased by her sister Emilia of Poland and her brother Jaroslaw of Ukraine.

Stefania was a longtime parishioner and member of the Ladies Auxiliary at St. George’s Ukrainian Catholic Church.

She was a highly skilled professional seamstress and well respected for her embroidery work.

She was called upon many times to embroider the Vestments for many Parish Priests.

Stefania also retired from Oshawa General Hospital after many years of working in Linen Services.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 from 6-8 p.m. with Panachyda at 7 p.m. at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME (124 King St. E., Oshawa).

A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 10 a.m. at ST. GEORGE THE GREAT MARTYR UKRAINIAN CATHOLIC CHURCH. Interment to follow at St. Wolodymyr & St. Olha Cemetery, Courtice.

Sheilagh passed away peacefully in her 86th year at her home in Uxbridge.

Pre-deceased by her husband Norm Mann and sister Jean Garside.

Survived by her daughters Maureen and Norma, grandchildren Steve and Valerie, sons in law Terry and Dale, sister Brenda Cox, brother in law Ron Garside, sister in law Mary Gould and numerous nieces & nephews.

Sheilagh volunteered at Chances Are, The Uxbridge Legion, and knit blankets for the cats at the local shelter.

She loved spending time with family and friends, telling stories of her adventures.

She had the most hearty laugh. You couldn’t help laughing with her.

She will be missed for her generosity and strong spirit.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Uxbridge Legion on Saturday June 1, 2024 at 12 noon.

After a short illness with esophageal cancer, our beloved Sheila left us on March 5th, 2024 at the age of 86.

Sheila was born on July 3rd, 1937 in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent in England’s Midlands district.

She was the middle daughter between sisters Jessie and Jenny, born to Lily and Charles Jones during the years of the Great Depression, with WWll, soon to follow.

Her childhood, though happy, was marred by her father’s suffering with Multiple Sclerosis and her mother managing household finances for many years.

Sheila learned optimism, humour and unflappable resilience from her mother’s strength of character and her father’s stoicism.

Sheila immigrated to Canada in 1955, along with fiancé Bill (predeceased) and his family, where they were married in Toronto.

They lived in this city before moving to Whitby and later to Courtice. Sheila was born to travel and together with her much loved Bill, she saw the ruins of Rome, the pyramids of Egypt, the tulip fields of Netherlands and the White Cliffs of Dover along with many other wonders.

Sheila leave behind her daughter Lori (Bob), son Phil (Kathy), grandchildren Natalie (Tetsu), Taylor (Seth), Emma (Bryson), Eric, sister Jenny of the UK and many extended relatives.

Cremation has taken place.

On Wednesday February 21, 2024, Steven Kevin Shore passed away peacefully at home after a brave battle with colon cancer.

He was the beloved and devoted husband to wife, Sherri.

He was a loving and proud father to Hailey (Richard) and Scott.

His legacy will live on through his grandchildren, Isabella and Auston.

He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Carolyn (Carrie); he was predeceased by his father, Kevin. Family, fishing and football was how he lived his life.

The door was always open for tea or coffee and conversations were shared. Steven had an act for making everyone feel welcomed, his contagious laugh, memory and storytelling are just a few of the things we will miss about him.

Friends and family are invited to Steven's Celebration of Life on Thursday February 29, 2024 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at The SIMPLE ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL CENTRE located at 1057 Brock Road in Pickering.
